REVEALS MASTER-WORKS IN

EXTENDED “MANSIONS IN MINIATURE” EXHIBIT  

  Some call Stephen O’Meara akin to Fabergé, others call him crazy, but see for yourself at “Mansions In Miniature,” an exhibit hosted by O’Meara Sterling, newly opened on Marshall Way .  Extended until January 31^st 2004 , the exhibit features sterling silver object d’art - all under 2” high – by local goldsmith Stephen O’Meara.  January features master-works previously reserved for private display – one of a kind commissions and artist’s proofs, as well as a rarely-seen collection in solid 18kt gold.  Also on display are pieces loaned from private collectors’ of Stephen ’s work; such as an 18kt gold seventeen-piece tea-service; one of only two in the world. 

Over the past 25 years, Mr. O’Meara has trained with some of the world’s premier masters in goldsmithing to perfect his skills.  “Working in precious metals is a passion and a privilege,” he says.  “I started when I was 14 and haven’t stopped searching for perfection since.”  Some might argue he’s reached it now, viewing works at this Scottsdale Gallery.  Intimate and luxurious with leather sofas and rosewood paneled walls, the shelves glitter with jewel-encrusted gold eggs, solid gold sculptures, hand-raised sterling silver centerpieces and bowls, and of course, and dazzling array of tiny treasures featured in the “Mansions in Miniature” exhibit.  “This is not your grandmother’s silver,” says the artist.  ”My pieces reflect this new age of elegance, where old-world skill and technique meet the sleek designs of the modern day.”

Each of Stephen ’s pieces at the exhibit are for sale, with a 1/8” high sterling silver piggy bank available for  $35.00, and you can take home  a 1 7/8” high exact replica of a regency tea service in solid 18kt gold for $12,500.00.

The first exhibit of its kind in the valley, viewing this internationally acclaimed collection is a once in a lifetime experience.
